Bio
Megan Mottley is a native of Memphis, TN. She graduated from the University of Memphis in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and in 2002 with a Masters of Liberal Studies. Megan worked for a number of years in the Journalism industry before starting a life-changing fundraiser in 2016 to help her daughter go on a mission trip to Japan. Megan and her daughter had only 3 months to raise $3500 and in less than 8 weeks they raised over $5,000. After the fundraiser’s huge success, Megan launched Goodness Gracious Cookies and began building her cookie empire one cookie at a time. Megan has been featured nationally on ABC’s “The View” and featured locally in “The Commercial Appeal”. In 2024, Megan rebranded her cookie business to Memphis Cookie Company and has a storefront location in the Hickory Ridge Mall Food Court. In addition to cookies Megan now offers a wide array of desserts including brownies, donuts, and cupcakes.
As a Cookiepreneur, Megan is committed to preparing the next generation of Bakers & Dessert Enthusiasts. When she’s not baking cookies for huge corporate orders or sharing baking tips on social media, she enjoys encouraging youth to consider careers in the food industry through baking camps, on the job training and business coaching.
Megan is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (Epsilon Kappa Chapter), loves to travel, enjoys running, and has a beautiful daughter, Kaitlin, who reminds her that every day is worth living and celebrating.
